Casing and compressor or generator installation provided with such casing. The present invention relates to a casing for a compressor or generator installation comprising a chassis with a base plate and a mounting frame on which a plurality of corner braces are mounted perpendicularly, each corner brace extending in the same direction from the chassis. More specifically, the invention relates to a casing comprising a plurality of side members configured to connect the corner braces at their free end, i.e., the end of the corner brace that is not mounted on the chassis. Existing enclosures for compressors typically include multiple corner braces, at least one for each corner of a mounting surface of the chassis base plate, and a number of intermediate braces at the edge of the mounting surface and between the corners of the mounting surface. Both the corner braces and the intermediate braces extend in the same direction from the chassis, perpendicular to the mounting surface. Doors of the enclosure are usually hinged with hinges on one of their sides on the corner and intermediate braces; usually on the side opposite this one side with hinges locks are placed that hook behind or in the corner or intermediate braces.
